BROSNAN AND HARRIS GRACE CHRISTIAN OSCARS

They Are Among Nominees for Grace Award for Most Inspirational Acting
At Christian Awards Show March 18 in Beverly Hills

HOLLYWOOD, CALIF. (ANS) ? Pierce Brosnan, the late Richard Harris, Craig T. Nelson, Billy Ray Cyrus, and James Caviezel are among the star-studded candidates for the Grace Award for the most inspiring acting in movies and television.

Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and chairman of the Christian Film & Television Commission(TM), will announce the winners at the upcoming "Christian Oscars," the 11th Annual MOVIEGUIDE(R) Faith & Values Awards Gala, March 18 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills, California.

Inspired by philanthropist Morgan H. Grace, Jr., the Grace Award for Inspiring Acting in Movies and Television is awarded annually, in the form of a beautiful trophy, to the actor or actress in a feature motion picture and television show who, through their outstanding performances, exemplify God?s grace and mercy toward us as human beings.

"Many other awards honor fine acting and entertaining performances," Dr. Baehr said, "and some awards honor morally distinctive portrayals by actors, but the Grace Award honors and encourages actors who bring a loftier and more spiritual dimension to their craft, beyond humanitarian and ethical role-playing, by reflecting the truth of God?s grace and mercy.

"The Grace Awards also aspire to stimulate spiritual wisdom, knowledge and growth as part of the acting craft. We believe that by bringing a deeper understanding of and love for God and His grace and mercy, actors and actresses can inspire and uplift millions of moviegoers and television viewers ? and entire families and populations ? with a message that transcends mere entertainment and escape."

Baehr added, "The Grace Awards intend to encourage spiritual wisdom, knowledge and growth. We hope that by honoring these movie and television actors and actresses, millions of people will be uplifted and inspired to be enthusiastic about the further study and worship of the God of the Bible."
